History of the Cordoba Museum
The center is located in the oldest building of the city - a mansion made in the Spanish colonial style. It was built around 1752-1760. (XVIII century). The first owner of the cottage, which now houses the Historical Museum of Cordoba, was a Spanish merchant named don José Rodriguez.
Twenty years later, the house was rented by the Governor of Cordoba - Don Rafael Nunez, or the Marquis of Sobremonte. It is his name that is now called the Historical Museum of Cordoba. The Marquis lived in the mansion for 14 years. Only 122 years later the cottage was bought by the city authorities. In 1941, the Historical Museum of Cordoba was awarded the status of a national architectural monument.
Museum collection
The idea of creating this architectural and cultural monument belongs to Monsignor Wolf and Pablo Cabrero. It was to these philanthropists that the city authorities transferred the mansion so that they could place their collection of antiques there.
At present, the collection of the Historical Museum of Cordoba consists of the following antiquities:

- musical instruments;
- paintings created by American artists;
- religious subjects;
- things of seafarers, the oldest of which is the geographical map of South America (1775);
- ceramics, dating back to 1612.
