Violation of the rights of the child

A child is a full-fledged person with a full set of rights and freedoms, which are declared in the legislation of every civilized country. But, despite this, in real life there are regular situations of violation of the rights of the child, and often the perpetrators themselves do not realize that their actions are contrary to the letter of the law and are punishable.

Violation of the rights of the child: examples

Paradoxically, most often the violation of the rights of the child occurs in the family. Most parents consider it permissible to slap a child for a fault - for the cause after all, scream - and that language does not dissolve, call an idiot and a dunce - to learn better and really did not. At the same time, they do not see anything reprehensible in such "educational measures" -that is, because they act solely out of good motives, and they themselves have been brought up like this. In fact, these are real manifestations of violence - physical or psychological, which is the most common form of violation of the rights of the child.

The harm of violence can be discussed indefinitely, and sometimes the psychological is much more terrible than the physical - it inflicts serious mental trauma on the child, affects self-esteem, distorts the model of interpersonal relationships. Other violations of the rights of the child in the family include restriction of freedom of movement (punishment in the form of locking the child in a room), spoiling of personal belongings, deprivation of food.

No less often, there is a violation of the rights of the child in school. Unfortunately, there are teachers who prefer bullying, public humiliation, insult, systematic and unfounded criticism to other educational methods. This, as a rule, gives the opposite effect: the child develops a strong dislike for such a teacher, he closes in himself, the motivation for learning disappears, the child tries all the ways to find the reasons for missing classes.

In many schools, there is a practice of cleaning classrooms and school territory after the lessons. Schedules are drawn up, attendance is tracked, those absent from cleaning are subjected to various "repressions". It is also illegal - children can be asked to be taken away in the classroom or on the territory, they can give their consent by confirming it in writing. The decision to clean the school territory is made by the parent committee, and not by the principal.

Responsibility for violation of the rights of the child

To date, for violation of the rights of the child provided for administrative, and sometimes criminal liability. The child can apply to the law enforcement and guardianship authorities for a violation of his rights.
