Aglaonema - reproduction

Aglaonema is a plant that does not require any special care and attention, but it has a chic appearance. It is able to grow even the most inexperienced amateur florist.

Many sources have information that this miracle plant perfectly cleans the air in the premises and kills streptococcal infection.

Aglaonema - reproduction at home

Propagating to Aglaonema is not easy, because it grows too slowly. But still it is possible, and even in several ways: cuttings, air layers and seeds. But the reproduction of Aglaonema leaf is impossible. The ideal period for its reproduction is the end of spring-summer.

Aglaonema - reproduction by cuttings

The fastest and easiest way to reproduce is cuttings. Thanks to this method, a new strong plant can be obtained in a short time.

We choose a suitable shank with leaves, about centimeters 10. Cut off, place the cut with charcoal and leave for a day, that it a little dried up. Then, after a day, this stalk should be planted in a mixture of sand and peat. Rooting will take place in a couple of weeks.

Propagation of Aglaonema by airlifting

In practice, this method of reproduction is rare. To propagate this method to the aglaonema, you should make a couple of small incisions on the selected stalk (if there are small accessory roots on the stem, you do not need to cut the incisions), then place the places of the cut with moss moistened with sphagnum and wrap with cellophane, tightening it on both sides with threads. Transparent cellophane for this procedure will not work. When the roots appear, cut off the stem, remove polyethylene from it, and plant the mantle along with the moss in the substrate.

Reproduction of Aglaonema by seeds

Reproduction by seeds is an occupation for fanatics. Seeds should be planted in February in the paddies with a light and loose soil. Spray with warm water and cover with glass. Twice a day you need to remove the glass and wind the crop, and keep the soil moisturized. Already grown seedlings should be placed in pots with a diameter of 7 cm. Watering should be moderate.
