Cervical bend

Normally, the uterus occupies a central position in the pelvic area. The uterus body and its neck form an obtuse angle. If the organs are located at an acute angle, there is retroflection or bending of the cervix.

Cervical Bend: Symptoms and Causes

As a rule, the bend of the cervix, refers to congenital pathologies, as a result of sexual or general infantilism. But often a defect appears due to inflammatory processes. There are fixed and mobile bends. The cause of fixed bending of the cervix becomes inflammation, and the mobile usually appears with weight loss, after childbirth or because of the presence of some gynecological diseases.

Most often, the bend occurs among young women with a small weight, a weakly developed skeleton and muscle mass. These are women of asthenic type of build, often with increased emotionality. The combination of these factors leads to a weakening of the ligaments and tone of the uterus. Complication of such a disease as retroflexia can become infertility. Diagnosis of the disease is complicated by the absence of severe symptoms. Therefore, the bend is revealed only during gynecological examination. Sometimes, with a fixed bend, it is possible to have painful passage of menstruation, as well as a selection of whites. A woman with a cervical bend can constantly experience constipation.

How correlate the cervix and pregnancy?

If the bend has the character of anatomical individuality and is not pronounced strongly, problems with conception do not arise. With a strong bend, difficulty is observed due to the difficulty of getting the sperm into the uterine cavity. Sperm does not go beyond the vagina. To increase the chance of pregnancy, it is recommended during sex that a woman with a cervical bend should use a pose on all fours. After the end of the sexual act, you need to lie on your stomach for half an hour. When complicating the bending with spikes in the area of the fallopian tubes, as a rule, infertility occurs.

Since you can get pregnant with a small bend in the cervix, you should pay special attention to the risk of spontaneous abortion and the entire period of bearing a child to be observed in gynecology. Pregnancy in bending largely depends on the length of the cervix, which normally ranges from 35 to 45 mm in a period of 12 to 40 weeks. By the time of delivery, the neck is shortened, softened and opened. If the process begins at an early stage, premature birth occurs. Therefore, initially a small length of the cervix, especially not more than 20 mm, complicates the course of pregnancy when bending.

It is difficult to pass and childbirth when the cervix is bent. With a pronounced defect, the cervix plays the role of a "dead wall", preventing the child from passing through the birth canals. In this case, a woman is preliminarily trained for labor, prescribing a course of drugs that soften the cervix before delivery. Then the midwife has the opportunity to help the woman in labor, straightening the neck.

Cervical bending treatment

Sometimes cervical bending treatment is performed by a simple surgical procedure, for which a woman does not need to be placed in a hospital. However, the cause that caused the kink is not treated and the defect can return. Therefore, most often, for the treatment of bending, a special massage and a set of physical exercises are used. Massage is aimed at jet irrigation of the perineum and vagina with warm water to strengthen the tone of the uterus. Contraindication to massage are thrombophlebitis of venous vessels of the pelvic region, inflammatory processes in the genital organs, their oncology and pregnancy.
