Neptune and Poseidon - what's the difference?
It was believed that Neptune - the god of the seas and oceans, but his image was taken from Poseidon, who also ruled the water spaces. Their main difference is that the ancient Greeks called the ruler of the sea Poseidon, and the Romans had to like the middle name. Yet, initially he did not live on the seabed, surrounded by his subjects, he controlled all the flowing rivers, making the lands around them more fertile. The image of the underwater king also came from Greek myths.
Neptune is a myth
Ancient Roman god of Rome Neptune became not the first ruler of the underwater kingdom. Before him, all possessions were in the hands of the titan of the Ocean, who though admired the young ruler, but did not want to give such a high rank. The ocean in colors described the new ruler to his relatives and raised the authority among the brothers, but unfortunately, the new ruler was not satisfied with the territory allocated to him.
The attempt to overthrow Jupiter came to defeat and he was expelled from Olympus and ordered to erect the great walls of Troy, the city of the goddess Athena. The sea lord had little defeat, and he entered the battle for the possession of the newly built city with Minerva, but he lost there too. And this was not his last attempt to take over the cities, only the gods of Olympus stood confidently and did not give him new territories.
For the disobedience of Neptune, he was forbidden to live on Olympus, and his place of residence was underwater sea caves. He ruthlessly arranged strong storms in a bad mood, and after a few minutes he calmed the sea. He was subject to earthquakes, and he was able to hide the islands under the water and raise them. Thus, he helped to hide Latone, who mercilessly pursued the goddess Hera. She asked for help from Neptune and did not even expect to be saved, but the arrogant god of the seas had compassion on the girl and they even made friends.
