Communication as interaction

Communication is an integral part of human existence.

Man is a social being, therefore, in the process of life, people are forced to interact. Interactions can occur at different levels, one of which is communication. This is a complex, multifaceted process of establishing and developing contacts and connections between people (or more or less intelligent creatures). As a rule, communication is accompanied by practical interaction of people. This process becomes more complete if people are puzzled by common goals and perceptions of their achievement. Common goals and views pave the way for trust and understanding.

Interaction and communication

Communication is a special form of interaction, possible between at least two intelligent beings (it is not necessarily people), as a result of which there is an exchange of information expressed in one form or another. There are many different systems of information transmission, one of which is language, that is, human speech. There are other information exchange systems that supplement speech communication (gestures, colors, smells, but it should be remembered that in different cultures their meaning is different). Thus, it can be said that communication is a special form of activity of several beings, leading to the emergence of psychic contacts and connections that ensure the mutual exchange of information. Often, communication occurs with various emotional manifestations, however, emotions are not an obligatory component of communication.

Communication as interpersonal interaction is possible only between sentient beings. For example, it could be people and / or some of the cetaceans. To date, it is believed that other species that can not act as subjects, can not be considered as having the personality to the full. This question is controversial and not sufficiently studied, especially if it is a question of higher primates, as well as other gregarious and schooling, which are reasonable at their levels.

It is assumed that the question of the possibility of personal development in an organism depends on the existence of a second signaling system.

The phenomenon of communication invariably evokes the interest of scientists: psychologists of sociologists, biologists and philosophers. In each of the sciences, communication is treated differently from different points of view.

Mechanisms of interaction in communication

The very situation of communication is possible due to the functioning of so-called socio-psychological mechanisms. Let's consider some of them.

  1. Mental infection is a special way of influencing with the transfer of emotional and mental mood, collects people into groups (dances, rallies, panic, sporting excitement, religious ecstasy). Infection is unconscious. For the emergence of mental infection requires an initial translating inductor (that is, the first). After repeated repetition, the emotional background is mutually and intensified.
  2. Suggestion is a purposeful, unjustified (or inadequately argued) impact of one person on another (or others). Forced information is perceived as priceless, uncritical. Suggestion is focused on the formation of a special mental state, serves to induce certain actions. It is carried out more verbally (by speech), and also by gesticulation. Most unsafe people are most a characteristic dominance in the psyche of the situational mood. To successfully inspire confidence in the source of information (that is, its credibility) and the lack of resistance to the impact.
  3. Persuasion is a process and at the same time the result of a program-targeted impact. A system of evidence, rational arguments, oriented to the personality, critically tuned.
  4. Imitation is a phenomenon that provides a person's reproduction of patterns of behavior of the one with whom he communicates. Group norms and values in communities arise due to the phenomenon of imitation. Socio-mental imitation performs communicative, compensatory, interactive and protective functions. Imitation is based on the biological mechanism of repetition.
