Crocodile farm (Langkawi)

  1. The combed crocodile is considered to be the largest representative of its kind. The largest male living on the farm has a length of 6 m, and his weight exceeds a ton. He often participates in local performances.
  2. Siamese freshwater crocodile - is threatened with extinction. In the nursery, the largest male reaches a length of 3 m, sometimes they mate with the comb-like species and may have larger dimensions. But such reproduction violates genetic purity.
  3. Gavial crocodile - a valuable specimen of the institution, which is listed in the International Red Data Book (IUCN). Its length does not exceed 5 m.

What to do on the farm?

The whole territory of the establishment is clean and well-groomed. During the tour, visitors will be able to:

  1. See a large number of geckos and a variety of birds. Here grow exotic palms, cacti and shrubs. The most popular plants are: carnivorous tree, frangipani and banana.
  2. For a fee, you can ride a wagon harnessed by toothy reptiles.
  3. Several times a day, crocodiles are fed, in which visitors can also participate. Reptiles are given food with a long stick through the fence.
  4. Visit the show with reptiles, which takes place every day from 11:15 to 14:45 at Crocodile Farm of Langkawi. You will see how the tamers come into the enclosure to the animals, stroke the inhabitants, brush their teeth, put their hands in their mouths and even kiss. By the way, all artists are in a healthy adequate state, because according to the laws of Malaysia on animals it is forbidden to exert psychotropic influence.

The whole territory of the Crocodile farm of Langkawi has indexes and special fences providing security for tourists. Visitors are always accompanied by a guide (there are even Russian speaking guides) who will talk about the life of reptiles, peculiarities in their behavior, how they differ among themselves and how they multiply.

The institution is open every day from 09:00 to 18:00. The admission fee is approximately $ 4 for adults and $ 2 for children over 12 years old. If you want to make photos with crocodiles, then for such a pleasure you need to pay about $ 9, the pictures are sent to your email address.

The farm has a gift shop and a small cafe where you can relax and have a snack. The shop sells themed products, some of them are made of reptile skin.

From the center of Langkawi to the Crocodile farm, you can take a car along the Jalan Ulu Melaka (Autobah No. 112) and Jalan Teluk Yu (Highway 113) or on Route 114. The distance leaves about 25 km.
