Either they are used rarely, or simply so long as their potential is not fully revealed by the gardeners. But we often hear about the use of decorative moss. And there are many types of it, to decorate both your personal plot and the walls of the apartment.
Indoor decorative moss
When we say "decorate the walls," we mean the walls without any reservations. The fact is that this living material takes root practically in any conditions, under any light and humidity. So, the decorative moss, which does not need special care, quite aspires for the role of painting on the wall.
And I must say that it is the pictures that make of this unpretentious material. For the first time it was used by Norwegian artists as an alternative to the usual panels or paintings. The so-called eco direction is now in fashion and respected by many designers, namely the living green wall is able to fully reflect the philosophy of this direction. Decorative moss for the garden
To get the desired result, you need to choose the right kind of moss for the plot of your garden. There are thousands of species, but only a few are used for decorating the garden. If you need to decorate a sunny place, and the conditions there are clearly dry, pay attention to the Kukushkin flax:
- ordinary has a saturated green or dark green color, the leaves are scaly;
- juniper has already erect leaves, it is perfect for sunny places, loves drought;
- the hair follicle differs in a gray-green and brown hue, it will perfectly settle on sandy soils, and also likes drought.
For such areas, you can try to plant fern moss, leukobrium will settle down. All these mosses are distinguished by the ability to form a dense sod layer, they are loose and perfectly tolerate drought.
It is quite a different matter when the task is to pick up decorative moss for the garden under shady and damp patches. Here, the glade is fine or viviparous. These mosses like a shadow, a lot of moisture, they perfectly decorate stones or plots near reservoirs. And trichium wavy will decorate the edges of water bodies, it is also suitable for ornamental meadows.
Decorative flowering mosses
Decoration of the Alpine hill , stone descents or steps, even roofs - all this is actively used by landscape designers. But especially effective look is decorative flowering moss.
Among them, the subulate phlox will surely please you not only with a beautiful carpet, but also with abundant bright flowering. Varieties are absolutely all foreign, as it does not give seeds and it is necessary to import them. But this in no way affects the ability to settle down and successfully bloom. Some types of cuckoo moss and polyia also blossom. However, it would be more correct to say that they do not blossom, but spar.
