Electrophoresis - indications and contraindications

Drug electrophoresis is one of the most common procedures in physiotherapy. It is carried out due to the operation of a special device that provides a weak electric current. With the help of electrical impulses, medication through the skin and mucous membranes is achieved, which are converted into highly active positive or negative charged particles.

Due to this method, it is possible to introduce small concentrations of medications directly into the pathological focus, with minimal systemic influence, while providing their prolonged action. But, despite a number of advantages over other methods of drug delivery and a wide range of indications, drug electrophoresis also has a number of contraindications to use.
