The Posavie Museum is one of the largest museums in Slovenia . It is located in an ancient castle. Known for a large collection of exhibits. Posavje is called the cultural center of Slovenia. He was one of the first to receive the state award of Freedom of the Republic, and the fortress itself is an architectural monument.
What is interesting?
The Posavie Museum is located in a fortress erected in the 16th century. The castle was built during the Renaissance, which is beautifully displayed in an architectural style. The most striking elements of the castle are the numerous arches that give greatness to the structure. The interior of the premises is also of interest to tourists. It is decorated with mosaics and paintings. Due to this, it is part of the museum's exposition. During the tour, the guide stops near the most significant images. Their stories convey the mood of the time in which they were created.
The museum's collection includes:

- military uniform and paraphernalia;
- scientific domestic and foreign literature;
- photographic materials;
- video materials.
There is also a permanent exhibition dedicated to the war that took place in Slovenia in 1991. About the tragic events tell photos, documents, personal belongings of significant persons, layouts, maps and much more.

How to get there?
Near the castle there is a bus stop "Pod Obzidjem". All city buses pass through it, so it is easier to get to the museum on the city transport of Brezice .
