National parks of Sweden

Few of us know that in Sweden there are places with pristine untouched nature. In far 1909 the country's parliament passed a law on national parks. Since that time, Swedish national parks are used exclusively for recreational, research and tourism purposes.   1. Herjedalen Park is in a place with wildlife, beautiful mountains, cold lakes and clean air. Travelers are popular with walking tours, and a well-thought-out infrastructure allows both beginners to travel and experienced tourists to make complicated multi-day hikes here.   2. Sarek National Park (Sweden) , located in Lappland, is one of the oldest national parks in Europe. It was created to protect high-mountainous landscapes. There are no paved tourist routes, and the locality in which Sarek is located is considered the rainiest in Sweden. Among the eight mountain peaks with a height of more than 2000 m there is the Sarechkokko mountain, which is considered almost impregnable. In this area there are about 100 glaciers.   3. Fulufjellet is located in the commune of Elvdalen. It is one of the youngest national parks in Sweden, discovered by the King of Sweden in 2002. This area looks like a high plateau, riddled with rivers. Mountain peaks and alpine meadows create a unique landscape. More than half of the park's territory is the tundra. Here is the Newpeter waterfall , whose height is 93 m. The oldest tree in the world grows in this national park. Scientists believe that his age is about 9550 years.
  4. Abisko - a landscape park, which is located in the north of Sweden, in Lenore Norrbotten. This area is located 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. On the territory of Abisko there is a canyon of the river with the same name, as well as Lake Turnerres, which is under ice for half a year. From mid-June to mid-July, the sun shines in these parts round the clock. In this harsh climate the Arctic fox and reindeer, wolverine and wolf, brown bear and a lot of polar birds have perfectly taken root.
  5. The Björnlandet National Park is located in the southern part of Lapland, in the Länder of Västerbotten. The main part of the park is the mountains covered with coniferous forests. Here, mainly pine and spruce grow, sometimes birch and alder are found. A large beaver population spread along the rivers and streams of the park, there are martens, squirrels, moose. In the forests there live various singing birds, several species of woodpeckers, etc.
  6. Norra-Quill is a park located in Kalmar Lan. Its territory is covered by ancient pine forests. The age of some trees here exceeds 350 years. Over the past 150 years, the park has not cut down a single tree.
  7. Pilekayce , covered with birch wood, is named after the eponymous mountain - a symbol of local places. In the southern part of the park there are several lakes. Through Pilekakeys there is a hiking trail leading to the mountains and wastelands of northern Sweden.
  8. Sture-Moss - the national park of Sweden, is located in Lenoe Jönköping . On its territory there is the largest marsh in the south of the country. On the shores of Lake Chevshon there are many birds. Peat bogs located in the park make this area an important ecological system.
  9. Trastiklan Park is located on the border with Norway . It is a rift valley, on the territory of which untouched virgin forests have remained intact. The clefts, formed here millions of years ago as a result of avalanches, turned into lakes.
  10. Elk Park Park Gordho is located near the city ​​of Ostersund . It opened just recently - in 2009, Los is the symbol of this city and one of the national animals of Sweden.
