Norkolut with endometriosis

In the treatment of endometriosis , hormonal therapy is important. Depending on the type and degree of the disease, both estrogen and progesterone antigormones are prescribed, as well as estradiol and gestagen-containing preparations. The drug of choice in the therapy of progestogen is Norkolut.

The drug Norkolut

The active substance norethisterone refers to gestagens with a weakly expressed therapeutic effect, therefore it is recommended for patients with the initial stages of endometriosis.

The therapeutic effect of Nokolut is based on its anti-estrogenic effect. Norkolut blocks the production of follicle-stimulating hormone, affects the yellow body, reducing its hormonal activity and regulating cyclical changes in the endometrium, including in endometriosis foci.

Contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Norkolut in endometriosis are such diseases as thrombosis, oncology of female genital organs and breast, problems with liver function (hepatitis), as well as predisposition to these diseases.

The advantage of Norkolut treatment is that it is prescribed to women with mastopathy, which is contraindicated with estrogen-type drugs. Also Norkolut has a contraceptive effect.

Scheme of treatment of endometriosis with Norcolut

With endometriosis and adenomyosis, a continuous long-term course of the drug Norkolut is prescribed for several months - from 4 to 6. When treated with an imitation of a normal menstrual cycle, tablets should be taken daily from 5 to 25 days of the cycle.

In treatment with suppression of menstrual function, a break in taking Norkolut is not done, starting with a daily dosage of half a tablet, increasing it 2 weeks before the whole tablet and then continuing to raise the dose every 2 to 3 weeks.

It should be remembered that to take any hormonal drugs for women's diseases can only be prescribed by a doctor. The choice of a drug for the treatment of endometriosis is exclusively in the care of your gynecologist.
