Pelister National Park


In the south-western part of Macedonia are located one of the most beautiful mountains of the country - Pelister. In 1948 this territory became a national park. This place is one of the most picturesque, as the majestic mountains cross many rivers and streams, in which pure clear water flows. The National Park conveys the beauty of the nature of Macedonia , therefore, after visiting this country, you should definitely go on an excursion to Pelister. In addition, the park is located near the resort towns - 80 km from Ohrid and 30 km from Bitola .

What to see?

The Pelister National Park covers an area of ​​12,500 hectares. Here for tourists not only the pristine nature opens, but also a lot of historical and cultural attractions. First of all it is necessary to note "mountain eyes". These are two lakes with crystal clear water - Small and Big Lake. One of them is located at an altitude of 2218 m, its depth is 14.5 m, length 233 m, and the second - at an altitude of 2210 m depth of 2.5 m and a length of 79 m. How to get there?

You can get to the National Park by car or by sightseeing bus. If you depart from the cities of Ohrid, Resen or Bitola, then you need to go along the E-65 to the direction of the city of Tronovo, and if from Prilep or Lerin, then along the A3 highway. The park is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
