Pillows-letters with own hands

Any interior can be changed or decorated with interesting accessories, among which pay attention to the hand-made decorative cushions in the form of letters. In this article you will get acquainted with the master class how to sew pillow-letters.

Depending on what size you need soft pillow-letters, you can draw patterns for them yourself or print them from the Internet on A3 (A2) paper.

Master class: pillow in the shape of the letter "L"

It will take:

• fabric 60x90 cm (can be 2 to 60x45 cm);
• 2 m of braid width 1-1.5 cm;
• sewing machine;
• filler (sintepon, holofayber);
• pins, pencil, ruler;
• brush or wooden stick.

Because of the simplicity of the form, for this cushion the letters "L" do not need a pattern at all.

1. Fold the fabric in half to make a rectangle 60x45 cm. From the left edge we retreat 22 cm and draw a vertical line with a pencil. On the right side below measure also 22 cm and draw a horizontal line to the intersection with the vertical line. Cut the rectangle, which turned out in the upper right corner, and put it aside.
2. Details of the workpiece of the letter "L" are folded with faces and on the perimeter are pinned.
3. At a distance of 1-1.5 cm from the edge, we spread it on the machine along the contour, leaving two holes: the upper part and below the right edge of the letter "L".
4. Cut the corners diagonally, retreating 3 mm from the seam. Near the inner corner of the letter we make incisions, not reaching the line of 3 mm.
5. We turn out the workpiece. For angles, use a special tool or the back end of the brush.
6. We smooth the fabric near the holes to prepare them for closing.
7. We fill the workpiece of the letter with a holofiber, but do not stuff it so that it becomes round, the letter should be more flat.
8. Punch holes with pins.
9. Starting from the upper corner, at a distance of 1 cm from the edge, first we hole through the hole, and then continue to sew along the perimeter of the whole letter, closing the second hole along the way. The machine should scribble at a low speed so that you can manage to compress the edges with the filler.
10. To the resulting edging of the letter we glue or sew the braid.
11. Our pillow in the shape of the letter "L" is ready.

There are other ways to make pillow-letters. The proposed option is the easiest, just for beginners. When making the letters A, O, B, H and others that have a hole in the letter, first we outline the contour of the product, turn it out on the front side, sew the inner hole around the perimeter and only then begin to fill the letter with filler and sew further.
