Snowman from the modules

The popularity of modular origami grows with each passing day more and more. From standard triangular modules, folded from ordinary office paper, you can create simply breathtaking crafts: animal and human figures, models of cars, trains and even New Year decorations, for example, a snowman. About how to make a snowman from the modules and will be discussed in our today's master class.

Handmade from triangular origami modules "Snowman"

  1. For the craft, we prepare the origami modules from white and colored paper in the usual way. The number of modules depends on the desired size of the craft. For a medium-sized snowman, we need 946 white modules and 176 modules of colored paper. We will connect the modules by inserting the corners into the pockets.
  2. The base of the craft consists of 3 rows, for each of which we take 34 modules. Let's start the hand-craft from the chain of four modules, immediately build up the second and third rows.
  3. Working at once with three rows, we will build a chain of 34 modules and close it in a ring. Turn over the received ring and slightly turn it out. We will grow 4 series of modules, adding 6 modules to it. As a result, we get a series of 40 modules.
  4. We build 12 more rows of 40 modules, giving the craft a spherical shape. To do this is quite simple: you just need to put your hand inside the craft and slightly bend its walls. Since the blade of the modules is very elastic, it easily takes the desired form. The last row is made of 36 modules. In total, there are 16 rows in the lower part of the snowman's body.
  5. We begin to make a snowman's head. For this, we string the modules on the last row of the trunk with a right angle to the outside. The next row of modules is strung as usual. For each series we use 36 modules. The total should be 9 rows, including the first. The blank for the snowman is ready.
  6. For the hat, we collect a ring of 3 rows of modules of 22 pieces in each row. For contrast, you can make one row of hats from modules of a different color. In total for the hat you need 8 rows of modules.
  7. Let's make a snowman's eyes, hands and a smile from flagellates, rolled out of corrugated paper. Nose the snowman glued in red paper. We glue all this to our workpiece with the help of PVA glue.
  8. We will put on a snowman's hat, we will attach buttons-beads, we shall tie a scarf from a color tape. Our merry snowman is ready!

This snowman can be placed next to the Christmas tree of the modules , which can also be done independently.
