On a theatrical performance or on a New Year's matinee, there may be a need to make a children's dragon costume. Its complexity lies in the fact that to transfer the image you must make the following elements: head, spikes, wings and tail. There are many options for how to make a dragon suit with your own hands, but in this article we will consider the simplest ones.

Master class 1: children's carnival dragon costume

It will take:

• fleece light green and dark green flowers at 1.5 m;
• fabric of orange color 0,5 m;
• Velcro 20-25 cm;
• Sewing tools: threads, needles, pins, scissors (large and manicure), paper for the pattern.

Progress:

1. We take the sweater of a child with a long sleeve and outline the outer side of the sleeve. Focusing on this line, draw a wing of a dragon.
2. With this pattern, we cut out the details from the dark and light green fabrics folded in half.
3. By the already existing hood, we make a pattern and cut out 2 pieces of green fabric of different shades.
4. We puncture the wings with each other and on the light fabric symmetrically draw the skeleton of the dragon.
5. Stitching along the drawn lines and the edge of the part, cut out the internal fabric between the seams with a manicure scissors to get a dark skeleton pattern. Cut carefully, so as not to cut the lines made on the lines.
6. Cut out 8 equilateral triangles with a side of 10-15 cm from orange fabric.
7. We sew 2 triangles to the end of the wings, putting a green double cloth between them.
8. We put the remaining triangles on 2. We put between the light-green details of the hood, we spread out and turn out the crests outwards. Also sew dark green hood details.
9. We take a dark green hood detail, insert it into a light green one and spread it along the edge where the face will be. To the protruding details we sew velcro.
10. To the upper part of the wings we sew a light green hood layer.
11. To make a hole for hands, first mark the ends of the wings with the length of the palm, and then cut through the inner layer of fleece.

The cloak of the dragon is ready!

Master class 2: how to sew a New Year dragon costume for a boy

It will take:

• shreds of fleece of all shades of green and orange;
• jacket with a hood of dark color;
• eyes - 2 pieces;
• rope;
• glue;
• sewing tools.

Progress:

1. Cut out pieces of fleece scales. Starting from the bottom, glue them in rows along the entire jacket.
2. When the entire jacket is pasted with fleece flakes, the eyes are sewn to the hood with cilia of green fleece.
3. Carving out uneven strips of orange fabric, glue them to the bottle, creating a flame.
4. Cut out from the fleece circles of different diameters in several pieces: from 20 cm to 7 cm. Cut to the center and twist into the horn. The ends are stitched so that they do not untwist. Beginning with the smallest, we puncture a thick rope at some distance so that when moving the tail moves. The resulting tail is sewn to the glued jacket from the inside.
5. The suit is complemented by dark pants and socks with claws.

Any of the dragon's costumes will look good with green cloth covers on shoes with claws.

For a dragon costume, you usually choose a green cloth, but you can also use blue or blue, red, gold and even black.
