Such material is very beautiful, although it will cost you more than other types of tiles.

Porcelain tiles for facades

If you decide to decorate the facade of your house with granite tiles, you should remember that experts do not recommend using outside glue. Under the influence of precipitation and frost, it loses its properties, and the tile can peel off. In addition, this tile is much heavier than usual. Therefore, for the fastening of facade ceramic tiles used frames with various special designs: brackets, staples, metal profiles. Between the frame and the wall of the building, a heater is laid, and since this space is well ventilated, it does not allow moisture to enter it. A heat insulation will help keep the house warm in winter and cool in the summer.

Care for porcelain tiles

In order to make the maintenance of granite tiles simple, immediately after stacking properly treat it with a water repellent. When grinding ceramic granite acquires microporosity, therefore it is polished and matt tiles that require special protection from moisture. After laying such a tile, a special sealing agent should be applied with a wide brush to cover the surface pores in the porcelain tiles and make it water resistant.

Like any coating, porcelain tiles require regular hygienic cleaning. This material has a high resistance to aggressive substances. Depending on the type of tile surface: technical or polished, there are several ways to clean it. Fresh stains are recommended to be washed off with a solution of soda in water, old stains can be removed by any detergent, even containing chlorine. Paint, glue or resin from the surface of the tile cleans the acetone or gasoline well. Cleaners containing acids for polished tiles should be avoided, but if necessary, try not to get such a substance in the seams between the tiles. If this happens, the joints can change their color. Abrasive cleaning powders for cleaning ceramic granite tiles should not be used without special need.
