Composition and form of the release of Dalacin candles
Dalachin candles are white or almost white solid torpedo-shaped suppositories. One candle contains 100 mg of active ingredient (clindamycin antibiotic in the form of phosphate) and auxiliary substances (a mixture of solid fats). In one package of Dalacin there are 3 candles and a special applicator for their introduction.
The use of Dalacin candles
The drug is used to treat colpitis (inflammatory diseases of the vaginal mucosa) and bacterial vaginosis. Usually, suppositories are administered for 3 days, once a day before bedtime. In severe cases, the duration of the use of Dalacin suppositories can be increased to 6 days. You can insert candles both with your hands and with a special applicator. In the second case, after each use, the applicator should be thoroughly washed with soap or other disinfectant and dried.
During the period of application of the drug, it is recommended that women refrain from sexual intercourse, or, in extreme cases, do not use barrier contraceptives. This is due to the fact that the composition of Dalacin includes components that reduce the strength of condoms and vaginal diaphragms.
It is not recommended to combine the use of Dalacin suppositories with other vaginal products - tampons, creams, douches, - as well as taking other antibiotics without consulting a doctor.
In addition, it is inappropriate to use Dalacin suppositories at monthly intervals, since in this case the drug is washed out from the body with blood, not having time to soak up and have a therapeutic effect.
