The main decoration of Putrajaya in Malaysia is the modern Putra Mosque. She will impress with her sophistication and grandeur even the sophisticated connoisseurs of architecture.
Historical reference
Construction of the Putra mosque began in 1997 and lasted 2 years. The chief architect was the director of the construction firm Kumpulan Senireka Sdn Bhd - Nike Mohammed bin Nyk Mahmud, who also participated in the design of Putrajaya.
Next to the mosque is Perdana Putra - the Chancery of the Malaysian Prime Minister. Two of these buildings represent the entire power and religion of the Malaysian federal government.
Architecture
Putra Mosque is built in oriental style with Malaysian traditional decor. As a sample architecture of the 116-meter minaret, the King Hassan Mosque in Casablanca and the Sheikh Omar Mosque in Baghdad were taken. This high five-level minaret embodies the five pillars of Islam.
The building is built of pink granite, brought from the south of Italy. Visitors are impressed by the desert-pink shade on the windows, doors and panels. Why was this color chosen? In Islam, it is a symbol of love and good.
The mosque consists of 3 parts: the prayer hall, the courtyard, or the Sakhna, and many rooms for meetings and teachings. The highest point under the dome reaches a height of 76 m above the ground, and the dome itself is supported by 12 columns. The interior decoration of the halls is luxuriously decorated with dome arches, mirrors, numerous arches and shabestans (this is the place for night prayer). $ 18 million was spent on construction.
