The Zoo is a great entertainment for the whole family, especially if you are going on a long journey. To see rare exotic animals and birds is very interesting for both adults and kids.
Panama was no exception. In this country there are interesting zoos , bioparks and biomuseums . One of them, like a magnet attracting foreign tourists, is Safarick's Zoologico. It's not just a zoo, where fauna is held in cages. Here, animals that are orphaned or were injured, and then rescued, undergo a rehabilitation program. They deliver such animals to the Panamanian Environmental Protection Service. The rehabilitation program has no analogues in Panama - perhaps for this reason the zoo and enjoys such popularity among the true lovers of our smaller brothers.
What is interesting Safarisk Zoologico?
In the park you can see a lot of interesting animals and birds. Here you are waiting for the peacock and soldiers' macaw, agouti and white-tailed deer, sloth and coat, ocelot and rainbow toucan and many others!
The main difference between Safarix zoo and its competitors is the presence of a huge, largest in all Panama open-air cage, which is over 100 feet long. There live tropical birds of all kinds of bright colors (from hummingbirds to toucans), only about 20 species found on the Caribbean coast. And you can go through this aviary, as on the corridor, admiring the unusual feathered in almost natural conditions for them and in the closest proximity.
Also there is a hull, where hundreds of colorful butterflies are kept in large quantities. They look very impressive, especially considering that these beautiful insects live in the environment of lush vegetation, which is their home.
Funny monkeys - capuchins, howler, and others - will amuse you and your children with funny habits.
And, of course, it is worth noting the flora of this unusual park. Here specially planted trees (including lemons and mangoes). They do not just give the animals a shadow, so desired in the hot noon, but they also yield a harvest of exotic fruits, which both the pets and the park employees enjoy with success.

How to get to Safarisk Zoologico?
The park is located in the small Panamanian town of Maria Chikita. Come here to get acquainted with local animals, most conveniently by road, going north from the city of Colon . Your path will lie through the town of Sabanitas.
The zoo operates daily from 9 to 16 hours, however it is desirable to specify the time of work before the trip. On Mondays and Tuesdays, a visit to Safarisk Zoologico is possible only on condition of prior booking.
