Among the crafts for the New Year of 2014 will be the popularity of making the symbol of the year - the Horse. It can be made from different materials and for different purposes: a magnet, a toy on a Christmas tree, a soft toy , a medal, a beadwork figure , an amulet, a key chain, etc. In the article you will learn how to make a horse from a salted dough.
Master-class: souvenir "Horse" from salted dough
It will take:
- for the test: 1 tbsp. flour, 1 tbsp. salt, 1 tbsp. a spoon of sunflower oil, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of starch and about 2/3 cups of water;
- drawing a horse;
- stationery knife;
- thin brush;
- acrylic or gouache paints;
- Stack for plasticine (toothpick);
- magnet and superglue;
- dostochka or foil-wrapped cardboard.
- Mix the ingredients, and mix the dough well. It should be smooth, elastic and not stick to your hands.
- Part of the test rolls into a ball, and then on the dough we roll a flat cake with a 0.7 cm thick roll.
- Choose a picture of a horse and cut out the paper from its template. It is better to take as a sample a streamlined horse.
- We put the pattern on the dough, carefully cut out, remove the excess and leave the figure on the ditch.
- With a toothpick or stacks for plasticine, carefully place the relief pattern on the horse: mane, tail, hooves, eyes, nostrils, ears, saddle.
- We place a ditch with a horse to dry on the windowsill. After 15 hours, when the product has dried a little, turn it over and apply PVA glue on the reverse side. After that the craft is dry for two more days. If the thickness of the product - 1 cm, then you need to dry for at least 5 days. It is also possible to dry the products from the salted dough in the oven at a temperature of 80 ° C for an hour or more (depending on the thickness).
- For coloring we take acrylic colors or gouache and a thin brush. We will draw a gray-colored horse in apples.
- Paint the background (gray), then go through the white paint along the relief lines and draw the hooves, spots. We collect on a dry brush a little white paint and we put a light haze, giving expressiveness to a product.
- When the paint dries, cover the product with a colorless varnish and glue to the back of the craft with a super-glue magnet.
