Self-sufficiency

We know that self-sufficiency of a person is a necessary condition for the formation of the personality, without this quality nothing will happen - a person is doomed to complexes and experiences over trifles. But what is the definition of self-sufficiency, what does this concept mean?

The meaning of self-sufficiency

Definition of the concept of self-sufficiency is easy to give, the meaning can be caught only after reading this word. Self-sufficiency is when we have enough of ourselves, we have learned to interact with society in such a way that we do not need serious help from other personalities in everyday life. Moreover, the concept of self-sufficiency is applicable, both to the individual, and to society and any system.

Psychology of self-sufficiency

Some authors say separately about the self-sufficiency of men and women, but this is hardly justified, especially given the current realities. Today, women are trying not to yield to men in any way, they even succeed in succeeding in primordially male spheres. Therefore, to divide self-sufficiency into female and male does not make sense. But still, let's look at the points that include this concept.

  1. Self-sufficiency is expressed in the absence of fear of loneliness. If such is present, it means that a person can not do without others, but a person who depends on others can not be called self-sufficient.
  2. The ability to survive on our own is also a sign of self-sufficiency. This is expressed in the ability to equip their lives so that they can eat, drink and dress at their own expense, and ideally live on their living space, at least removable.
  3. Also, a self-sufficient person will never act on someone's orders, he will be guided only by his own judgments. Such a person can not be called a slave, he is able to make his own opinion about what is happening, and not blindly believe the statements of another person. Naturally, this does not mean the position "I know everything better than everyone, I do not hear or see anyone." To listen to someone else's opinion, you can ask for advice, and sometimes it is necessary, but you still have to follow your own way.
  4. Self-sufficient people have an interesting habit - to live without looking at the opinions of others. Such a person does not need the approval of other people or friends to make this or that decision. This means that a person assumes full responsibility for his actions. Therefore, the condemnation or approval of others becomes only a feedback, but not a fundamental factor.
  5. Self-sufficiency means the ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions while remaining "on horseback." For example, a person can be successful, popular in the get-together, but there was a crisis or rich parents, the financial channel was blocked and everything ended there, the person does not know what to do, is depressed and confused. He can not be self-sufficient, if he is so, instead of regrets about the lost, he would have found ways to restore his position. Any loss (money, loved one) does not mean losing yourself.
  6. An indispensable condition is not only the presence of good mental abilities, skills and abilities, but also knowledge of where, when and how to use them. A self-sufficient person seldom relies on luck, he is more to his liking for an accurate calculation.
  7. To call a person self-sufficient, requires the absence of sick attachments. Such it is possible to name any predilection of the person (thing, idea, person), without which existence is not possible. Parting with affection causes intense mental pain and suffering.

Reflecting on the concept of self-sufficiency, a self-confident, strong and attractive personality appears, but this concept has another side. Self-sufficiency can also be sick. It's one thing when a person does not need someone else's support, and quite another when he avoids this support with all his might. Do you feel the difference? Do not go to the extreme, accepting help does not mean getting weak.
