Small Olympic Games in the summer camp

Small Olympic Games today are a well-established tradition in most children's summer camps. This sports match-game can be held throughout the camp shift, with one sport, as a rule, usually takes one or several days.

The program of small Olympic games in the summer camp can include competitions in wrestling, table tennis, football, basketball, swimming, bicycle racing, gymnastics and so on. Usually, the types of competitions are chosen according to the decision of the administration of the children's institution, proceeding from the available opportunities and conditions.

Undoubtedly, the program of the event can significantly differ in different institutions. Despite this, in general, it is built according to a single plan, namely:

  1. Preparation for the Olympics. At the stage of preparation, Olympic teams are created among the guys, representing different "countries". In each team, a captain is chosen who, together with the rest of the guys, prepares the flag and emblem for his "country" and studies the details of the sports form. In addition, preparation for the Olympic Games usually includes demonstration performances and qualifying competitions held to identify outstanding athletes in each area.
  2. Grand opening. The opening of the Olympic Games consists of a parade of participants in future competitions, removal and installation of the flag, as well as speeches by representatives of different "states", demonstrating their color and national traditions. The opening ceremony of the small Olympic Games in the summer camp includes fun contests, which include certain elements of different sports. Such games are conducted only for the purpose of entertainment and do not have any influence on the result of the general competition.
  3. "Funny starts" in front of small Olympic games in the summer camp represent a relay race and other game tasks, one way or another related to the Olympics. As a rule, they are evaluated separately, but they can go into offset of all other competitions.
  4. Solemn closing, which includes the ceremony of awarding the winners, descent and removal of the flag, a parade of participants of all competitions, as well as merry stage numbers.
