Tea for lactation

Breastfeeding is an important period in the life of mother and baby. But sometimes my mother has less milk than a child needs. To increase the amount of milk and maintain lactation, you need to monitor the amount of fluid consumed. These can be juices, milk, water, soups, compotes, etc. At the same time, it is necessary to drink liquids at least one and not more than two liters per day. Also there are products that increase the production of milk. These include: Adyghe cheese, carrots, nuts, seeds. A special role in the ration of a nursing woman is played by teas for increasing lactation. It can be ready-made teas of various companies, sold in pharmacies and specialized stores, or cooked with your own hands.

When preparing your own tea, you can use the following recommendations.

The thing is that it contains such a substance as theine, and it is similar in its properties to caffeine. The volume of milk, may, and will increase, but at the same time the excitability of the nervous system increases. The child can sleep badly and behave restlessly.

Herbal teas for increasing and improving lactation

There are many kinds of herbs that have long been used as tea for lactation. For this, both individual grasses and whole collections are used. Very popular are cumin, dill, fennel, anise, oregano, lemon balm.

The most effective and most often used for increasing lactation is tea with fennel (or dill). Seeds (1 tablespoon), which can be purchased at any pharmacy, are poured with 300 ml of boiling water, cooled and drunk during the day. Drink it for 2-3 days, then take a break.

At this time, you can also drink chamomile tea - another effective tool used in lactation. In addition to its main purpose, it also has a soothing effect. However, do not forget that chamomile, like many other herbs, can cause allergies, so you need to monitor the condition of the child and, if necessary, replace it with some other.

Ginger tea is also useful in lactation. Prepare it as follows: grind one root of ginger and boil for 5 minutes in a liter of water. In a ready broth add lemon and honey to taste and drink in small portions three times a day. It is important to note that ginger has a number of positive properties. It improves memory, invigorates, improves digestion and helps in the prevention and control of viral infections.

It is important to mention the products that many people used to use in everyday life. For example, with a cold - lemon and raspberries, for tranquility - mint. Nevertheless, tea with lemon or raspberries should be used with caution in lactation, since these foods (especially raspberries) can cause allergy in the baby.

During a cold when breastfeeding it is better to drink lime tea. Brew fake color as a regular tea and insist 15 minutes, after which they drink hot. Hot tea helps to sweat and lowers the temperature. But tea with mint when lactation should not be used. Except when it is necessary to reduce it. The use of beverages with mint drastically reduces the production of milk. The same applies to sage.

The main thing to remember is that herbal tea can be both useful and dangerous when breastfeeding. Therefore, the herbs should be chosen with caution and after consulting a doctor.
