The Wax Museum

Not all museums should be cognitive, somewhere it should be funny and fun. The Wax Museum in Madrid is a great place and a great opportunity to have fun with the whole family, especially children . It's not just a line of figures, but a whole theater atmosphere.

The museum was opened in February 1972 near the Colon Square. Yes, our collection has repeatedly increased and continues to grow. Currently, the exhibition fund consists of 450 figures, and this is not always a single exhibition samples, part of the collection recreates real scenes from life or episodes from the cinema.

The Wax Museum, like its prototype ( Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in New York ) is a whole production and staff of educated professionals of completely different professions, such as: historians and artists, sculptors and make-up artists, fashion designers and boutographers, decorators and others. To convey the appearance of the hero or the whole plot, and, therefore, several heroes and not only people, serious work is under way to study the archives, painstakingly investigate this or that image. It's interesting that some well-known personalities give their consent to their copy with great pleasure and even give their clothes and props for it.

The contents of the museum is divided into several rooms on the subject of figures:

  1. Historical characters are a classic of wax, the very first hall where you can see not only Spanish, but also world figures of history and politics, such as Cleopatra, Napoleon, Juan Carlos I, Vladimir Putin, Fidel Castro and others.
  2. Science and art is a stable society of composers, writers and artists and other talented geniuses. No museum of wax figures can do without the company of Albert Einstein, Shakespeare, Beethoven, and in Madrid the Spaniards Pablo Ruiz Picasso and Salvador Dali perfectly joined this atmosphere.
  3. The entertaining hall (show) represents the legendary world celebrities and Hollywood actors, for example, Antonio Banderas, Michael Jackson, Pitt and Jolly, Marilyn Monroe (and she was given a whole room where besides her figure she collected an entire exposition of her life).
  4. The sports collection is known to us as winners, football stars (Pele, Cristiano Ronaldo), tennis (Rafael Nadal), Formula 1 racers, basketball players, motorcyclists (Angel Nieto) and cyclists.
  5. The horror room is very popular, Frankenstein, Count Dracula, Mummy, Joker, Freddie Krueger are frightened and frightened, as well as an entire era of the Spanish Inquisition with scenes of torture.
  6. Fantastic travel (children's room) - the most fun and joyful hall. It collects the characters of your favorite cartoons, movies and books. You can fly into space on a spaceship, go down to the bottom of the ocean in the Nautilus, or board a pirate ship. You will be met by Gandalf and Frodo, Bard Simpson and Harry Potter, Spiderman and Jack Sparrow.

In addition to acquaintance with the wax figures, the ticket price includes three attractions (we also recommend visiting the amusement park located in Casa de Campo). Horror fans are invited to ride on the "Train of Horrors" through a dark tunnel, in which one scene is replaced by another, on the simulator RV Simulador to make a virtual tour of different spaces. A gallery of Multivision on 27 projectors and with surround sound immerses you in the history of great Spain.
