Vaginal discharge

The nature, color, smell and consistency of vaginal discharge can tell a lot about the health of a woman. After all, unusual discharge - almost always a symptom of the negative processes occurring in the body. But in order to understand what emphasis should be paid attention, it is necessary to know the norms. After all, during cyclic processes in the body of a woman there are changes that are accompanied by the release of certain fluids and not always they are pathologies.

What discharge is considered normal in women?

To begin with, let's define which allocations should not bother you. In the walls of the vagina and in the cervix there are special glands responsible for the formation of mucus. Together with the mucus from the body of the woman, the dead cells of the epithelium and the bacteria that are part of the vaginal microflora are rejected. Normally, vaginal discharge should be unaffiliated and transparent or slightly cloudy. Sometimes the usual discharge from the vagina has a shade of milky color. The volume of secretions is about 5 mg per day. Density and amount of excretions depend on the menstrual cycle, but in a healthy woman, the discharge will never cause itching and provoke redness of the organs. Normal female discharge practically does not have a smell, sometimes it is possible to feel an easy "sourness", caused by pH 4-4,5. Increased discharge from the vagina does not always signal sickness, in normal intensive allocation can also provoke:

Pathological processes are usually accompanied not only by changes in the intensity of excretions, but also by changes in color, density and the appearance of odor.

Why there are allocation at diseases?

Often the cause of unusual discharge is the imbalance of microflora in the vagina, which causes opportunistic microorganisms. In the body of a healthy woman, microorganisms can live for a long time without causing any discomfort, but with a decrease in immunity these bacteria can exhibit "aggression". Also, the secretions can appear when the infection enters the body: ureaplasma, chlamydia, etc. Thus, the "unhealthy" microflora and infections in the vagina give rise to various discharges.

Types of unusual discharge

White or transparent liquid discharge, similar to mucus with veins or without, often occurs with erosion or inflammation of the cervix. If the secretions have a creamy or kiselike structure in the second half of the cycle, they are most likely not related to erosion and are considered the norm.

Brown discharge from the vagina before or after the menstrual period should not disturb you, but brown discharge in the middle of the cycle may indicate an inflammatory process in the vagina.

Scarlet spotting from the vagina can disturb a woman a few days before menstruation or after intercourse. Spots after coition may also indicate microcracks in the vagina.

An unpleasant yellow discharge in women can be accompanied by an unpleasant odor. Yellow or greenish discharge always indicates the presence of inflammation or bacterial infection in the vagina.

How to get rid of excreta? The first thing that needs to be done is to pay a visit to the gynecologist, to eliminate the causes of excreta. With the disappearance of the cause, all symptoms will disappear: discharge, unpleasant odor, pain.
