Vestibular gymnastics

Diseases of the vestibular apparatus - for many of us this is a very foggy and transcendental notion, as vestibular diseases are not so popular in the "people", they are not written about in the medical journals and do not speak on benches, clicking the seeds in front of the houses. Moreover, most diseases remain unnoticed and not diagnosed, since the main sign is dizziness, people are referred to pressure drops, heart problems, etc. But it was with dizziness that vestibular gymnastics would help.

Where does dizziness come from?

Dizziness often occurs when turning the head, with tilts. The sensation itself is characterized by a pre-fainting condition, a feeling of nausea. You can safely describe the vertigo of the expression "the earth is going beneath the feet". Why do vertigo most often occur when cornering? Precisely because they speak about the presence of cervical or thoracic osteochondrosis , in which the vertebral artery is transmitted and bent. During the turn, the bend is aggravated and the pressure changes, you, in turn, feel like you are lost in space.

Vestibular gymnastics

Vestibular gymnastics (VG) is a set of exercises aimed at reducing the symptoms of vestibular disorders, overcoming tinnitus, dizziness, improving the balance. Complexes of vestibular gymnastics are always performed at a slow pace, inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, but the lips must be tightly compressed.

The number of repetitions depends on the status of the practitioner, usually 7 times each exercise. Exceptions are push-ups, jumps and squats, they can be performed first and 3 times.

Vestibular gymnastics for the elderly is an ideal way of prevention and recovery. After all, with this physical activity, the complaints of older people are eliminated: pain in the back, dizziness, numbness in the limbs, and noise in the head and ears.

Precautions

Regardless of the external harmlessness of gymnastics for the vestibular apparatus, you should always consult a doctor before performing the exercises. Otherwise, with such concentration on the breath, a person really can lose consciousness.

If during the exercise you feel pain, any ailments, the same dizziness, stop for the duration of the session. Try again after a while, and if the symptoms recur, take a medical examination.
