Many believe that ADM vaccinations are made only for children, and adults do not need them. This is a great misconception, since protection from diphtheria and tetanus - namely, it is provided by the vaccine - is needed by the body at any age.
Is it necessary to vaccinate adults with ADAM?
Vaccine adsorbed diphtheria-tetanus in small doses is one of the varieties of the more famous DTP vaccination. But unlike the latter, in ADSM there are no components that guarantee protection from pertussis. In general, it's not surprising: vaccinated with this drug for children over six years and adults, whose immunity safely copes with the disease.
Of course, adults can not be vaccinated with ADSM. Still, experts insist on conducting a booster every ten years. Firstly, the procedure does not represent any complexity, and secondly, it is guaranteed to help prevent many problems.
Reactions and side effects on ADAM in adults
The principle of vaccination is simple: an infection is introduced into the body in small amounts. It does not harm health, but the immune system treats the drug as a potential hazard. Therefore, its antigens are safely destroyed by immunity.
Of course, it can not pass without a trace on the body. Therefore, some adult patients have to face complications of grafting ADSM. Side effects can be general and local. To them it is customary to include:

- temperature increase;
- urticaria ;
- anxiety;
- fast fatigue;

- dysfunction of muscles in the puncture site;
- nausea;
- diarrhea ;

Contraindications to vaccination of ADSM in adults
ADSM is considered a simple vaccine, therefore, it has insignificant list of contraindications:
- To refuse from an inoculation it is recommended at pregnancy and in a lactemia.
- You can not do ADSM during acute infectious diseases. Vaccination is carried out not earlier than a couple of weeks after recovery.
- Contraindicated vaccination with severe immunodeficiency.
- Damage to the body of ADSM can, if the patient has a tendency to allergies to certain components of its composition.
