Enghave Park

Copenhagen is a city in Denmark , famous for its ancient architecture, beautiful streets and colorful houses. But in this city there are also many central parks where you can relax with the whole family. One of these beautiful and cozy places is the Enghave Park.

The history of Enghave Park

The history of the park begins at the end of the XIX century, when members of the Royal Society of Gardeners decided to unite 478 plots in one park. In 1920, construction continued under the guidance of architect Poul Holsoe. He was also responsible for the design and construction of red-brick social houses, which still surround Enghave Park.

Features of the park

The Enghave park, built in neoclassical style, has a rectangular shape, divided into six sectors:

Directly in front of the entrance to the Enghave park is a gravel area with a central pool with a fountain. Tourists and locals come here to feed the ducks and gray herons that live on a small island near the Frederiksberg park. The front part of Enghave Park is adorned with the sculpture of Venus with an apple, created by the Danish sculptor Kai Nielsen. In the opposite part, the stage is installed, which is used for concerts.

In general, the park Enghave is very popular with both locals and tourists. Here you can relax from the bustle of this European capital, take a walk among the colorful flower beds and lie on a trimmed lawn. People gather in the park for various reasons - to have a picnic, feed wild birds or listen to a concert in the open air.
