- To sew a sarafan itself, you first need to measure the girth of the chest, hips and determine the desired length of the product. In our example, calculations for a girl with a girth of the chest (OG) of 90 centimeters, waist (OT) of 65 centimeters, hips (OB) of 95 centimeters and an increase of about 170 centimeters are given. So, add 1/3 to the OG, that is 30 centimeters, and then divide in half: (90 + 30): 2 = 60 centimeters. Similarly, we obtain the width of the hips ((95 + 32): 2 = 64 cm). Now fold the fabric in half and move the measurements to it to make a trapezoid, expanding the hem by 6 centimeters. Cut out the details.
- Sew two details of the bodice at the side seams, turning both halves inside out. Then make a lapel 40 centimeters. He will serve as a shuttlecock. The upper section is folded and stitched.
- Next, proceed to sewing the elastic band to the top of the bodice and waist. To do this, swipe around the previously sewn parts at the same distance from the top of the circular line, bend, insert the elastic and fix it with pins. If you want to sew a sundress without an underlined waist, skip this step. You will have a flared sundress. As for the rubber band, choose a wide one so that it does not crash into the chest. This is not only uncomfortable, but also not aesthetically pleasing.
- It remains to sew a rubber band around the waist, which is more convenient to do, passing it with a pin, and then process the hem, bending it one centimeter and stitching it on the sewing machine. It's so easy and quick to sew an elegant air dress, which in summer can be worn at least every day.

If you like models of sarafans with straps, you can weave them from the remains of fabric. To do this, measure the distance from the chest to the shoulder blades (over the shoulder), cut three strips of the appropriate length and weave a pigtail from them. Similarly, make a second strap.
Short sarafan
And this model of a summer sarafan can be sewn even faster! Measure the half-mantle of the chest, divide the obtained value in half and add five centimeters. Cut out a trapezoid from the fabric, the bottom base of which will be equal to the figure obtained during the calculation, and the top one - less by a third. Such details will need four (both parts must be double). Then measure the waist circumference, multiply the obtained value by two and cut out the belt with a width of 10 centimeters. To cut out the hem, measure the distance from the line under the chest to the middle of the thigh. The width of the detail is the girth of the hips plus 10 centimeters. Then sew double straps with a hem, in the place indicated in the picture with a red line, and from above sew the belt. Process all slices, and on straps, sew a buckle. Stylish shortened sarafan for summer walks is ready! The advantage of this model is that the accuracy of measurements does not matter much, because the size of the sundress is regulated by the smell of the hem.
