Master-class: how to make a self-made book

• paper;
• thread with a needle;
• cardboard;
• double sided tape;
• fabric: white for joining sheets, red for cover;
• thin tape;
• thick paper with a pattern;
• glue (super or acrylic).

1. Take the sheets the same size and fold them in half.
2. Fold them in notebooks for 10-12 pcs.
3. In each individual notebook make 4 holes in the fold.
4. We begin to sew it. We enter the first hole, and we leave the second, then we go to the third hole, and we leave the fourth hole.
5. On the outside, we should have one such seam.
6. With the needle, we go into hole number 4 of the next notebook. And we sew it as well as the first one.
7. And then we go to the next one. We sew it and weave it with the threads of the previous parts.
8. We do this with all the prepared notebooks.
9. We make an interlacing between all the holes on the folds.
10. Lubricate the back of the book with glue and let it dry well.
11. On top of the dried glue along the entire length we glue a thin ribbon, and then a wide cloth. To ensure that they are well adhered, it is necessary to press the spine to the table for a while.
12. Cut out of the thick cardboard part for the cover: 2 large rectangles and 1 - narrow. Their dimensions depend on the parameters of our sheets and the width of the resulting stack.
13. Cut out a red dense fabric rectangle, the size of which will be more by 5-6 cm than cut from the cardboard parts. At its edges we glue a double-sided adhesive tape.
14. Remove the protective layer and, bending the fabric, glue it to the cardboard.
15. We glue the spine and the protruding tissue from it with the cloth to the cover.
16. To hide the fabric, to the cardboard and the first sheet we glue a sheet of thick paper with a pattern folded in half.

The book is ready!

By the same principle, you can make a miniature book by hand. This, of course, painstaking work, since all the details will be several times smaller than the standard ones, but it will be a perfect gift for a person close to you. If you want to make a children's book with your own hands, it's better to take cardboard, since it will make it more dense, which means that it will be more difficult for a child to break it.
