Intuitive thinking

There are a large number of types of tasks, for each of which there is a type of thinking. Psychologists share and characterize each of them separately. Intuitive thinking is a type of thinking in which stages are not singled out, the entire task is perceived in a complex way, and a person comes to a conclusion that can be both true and erroneous without having to observe the process of forming thoughts about it.

Intuitive thinking in psychology

Some people have a very developed intuitive type of thinking. They, without conducting a logical and critical analysis of the problem or problem, are quickly able to name a way out of it. Specificity is that the process of thinking in this case remains hidden, it is difficult to isolate and analyze.

It is worth noting that the solution in the case of both logical thinking and intuition can be erroneous, since not all life situations can be calculated according to the laws of logic.

Discursive and intuitive thinking

By the nature of the problems to be solved, thinking can be divided into discursive and intuitive. These concepts, one might say, are opposite in their meaning:

With discursive thinking, the probable answers to the question are sorted, and when intuitive, the answer is born in thinking itself, but it is not based on anything.

Intuitive and analytical thinking

The essence of intuitive thinking is its elusiveness, the inability to track the entire chain from getting the conditions of the problem to the final conclusion. In contrast, with the analytical, each stage clearly stands out among the rest, and any person is able to talk about them, explain each in detail. It should be noted that in extreme form analytical thinking can go into deductive thinking (that is, thinking by type from the general to the private one).

At the same time intuitive and analytical thinking perfectly complement each other. After receiving intuitive information, a person can always test it analytically and arrive at the most correct decision. Thanks to intuition , it is possible to put forward a hypothesis even before its value becomes proven. With the right approach, the use of intuitive thinking can be very useful, if you do not rely on it entirely, but use it in combination with other methods.
