Jam from a pumpkin with oranges

Winter is just around the corner, which means that it's time to bask in a cup of tea with a delicious biscuit, or jam. Standard strawberry, apricot and raspberry jam is no surprise, so we suggest you try an innovative recipe for jam from pumpkin with citrus.

Pumpkin jam with orange and cinnamon

Pumpkin is cleaned of seeds and peel, and cut into small cubes. Place the pumpkin slices in a thick-walled pan and cover with sugar, leave for 2 hours. During this time the pumpkin will have time to give enough liquid, in which it will then be cooked.

We cut an orange into very small pieces and add it to the pumpkin together with a cinnamon stick.

We put the pan on the fire and bring its contents to a boil over medium heat, boil the future jam, stirring constantly, until more of the liquid evaporates, and the pieces of pumpkin will not start to boil.

Now jam can be poured into cans, or consumed immediately.

If you do not like cinnamon, then replace it with a couple of anise stars.

Pumpkin jam with apple, lemon and orange

Before you cook the jam from the pumpkin with oranges, clean the pumpkin, cut into cubes and put into a thick-walled pan, adding 1/2 cup of water, cover with a lid and simmer on a small fire for 10 minutes.

Half an apple rubbed on a grater, and the second half cut into cubes. Add the apples to the pumpkin and continue the quenching without the lid. As soon as apples and pumpkin become soft, add sugar, bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat and stew for 40 minutes, until most of the liquid is evaporated and the mixture thickens.

In the jam, add grated ginger, lemon and orange peel. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat and cook for another 5 minutes. Now you can fill the jars with sterilized cans.

We rub a peel of oranges and squeeze out juice. On the basis of sugar and juice, we prepare the syrup, into which we put the cubes of the purified pumpkin. Add a little water and cook until thickened with the addition of nuts. As soon as the pieces of pumpkin become soft, the orange jam with pumpkin can be bottled.

Despite all the comfort and time savings that the multivarker gave us, it's not very convenient to cook jam in it. Firstly, with the help of the kitchen worker, a relatively small amount of goodies is obtained (about 1/4 of the total volume), and secondly, the multivariate does not prepare it on its own, since jam should be stirred from time to time.
