Nodal mastopathy

One of the forerunners of breast cancer is the nodular form of mastopathy. The disease is the appearance of benign neoplasms, for example, cysts and nodules in the mammary glands. Nodular mastopathy, identified by women in the early stages, in most cases is treatable and does not lead to the development of more serious ailments. About how to treat nodular mastopathy, and what symptoms are characteristic for it, we will explain further.

The causes of nodal mastopathy

Vulnerable to the disease group are women aged 35 to 45 years. The main reason for the development of nodular mastopathy is a violation of the balance of hormones responsible for the menstrual cycle. A little less often, the hormone produced by the body for lactation has an impact on the development of the disease. This occurs in cases where it is released in excess in the absence of pregnancy and beyond the period of breastfeeding.

Symptoms of nodal mastopathy

Nodular mastopathy is characterized by the presence of nodules in the mammary glands. You can detect them by conducting a routine breast self-examination . Nodules are seals in the mammary gland, other than the rest of the structure.

The peculiarity of nodular mastopathy is that nodules are not probed in the prone position.

Among the symptoms of nodular mastopathy, swelling of the breast and soreness of the nodules before menstruation can be noted. After it, these symptoms pass.

Signs of nodular mastopathy include discharge from the mammary glands . They appear with pressure. The liquid can be of different colors: from transparent to bloody.

Unfortunately, sometimes women with mastopathy learn about it by accident at a doctor's appointment. This is because the nodules are not always probed.

Treatment of nodal mastopathy

Before appointing a patient for treatment of nodular mastopathy, the specialist conducts a number of additional diagnostic procedures that allow to make a complete picture of the disease. So, palpation, ultrasound of the mammary glands and mammography are necessarily performed. In addition, a biopsy, a pelvic examination, and the like can be prescribed.

Drug treatment, conducted with a cystic fibrosis form of mastopathy, is possible even with a nodal type of disease. However, it is used only in the early stages of the disease. In this case, a woman needs to follow a healthy lifestyle and follow the recommendations of a specialist without fail. The essence of the treatment is reduced to the restoration of the hormonal background.

In other cases and in the absence of a positive effect of conservative treatment, with nodular mastopathy, an operation is performed to remove the nodules or the entire mammary gland.

Treatment of nodal mastopathy with folk remedies

It is impossible to cure nodal mastopathy with folk remedies. You can make separate manipulations, but they help only in the removal of the pain syndrome.

Most often, to remove pain, compresses and ointments are used.

  1. Vegetable compresses. We rub the red beet or pumpkin on the grater. The resulting mass is wrapped in gauze cloth and applied to the chest.
  2. Ointment from celandine. To prepare the ointment, grind a teaspoon of dry celandine into a powder and mix it with two teaspoons of butter. On a water bath, cook the mixture for 10 minutes and then cool. The resulting frozen mass is applied to sore spots.
