Orange Confiture - Prescription

As if I did not want to violate the magic of beautiful French sayings, but in fact orange confiture is a jam habitual to us, or rather a thick jam with whole pieces of citrus. The range of use of this sweets, respectively, is similar: baking, desserts, addition to cereals and dairy products, or simply to a cup of tea, or coffee.

Orange peel (orange part) rubbed on a grater. White citrus flesh cut with a knife, trying to collect all the orange juice running down in the process. Now, the orange pulp should be separated from the membranes with a sharp knife.

In a bowl, place zest, flesh, juice and sugar. Put the bowl on the fire and bring it to the boil. Remaining from the cutting of the pulp membranes and seeds contain a huge amount of pectin, which will thicken our confiture, so we cut the scraps into a gauze pouch and also send it to the pan. Cook the confiture at 104 degrees for 5 minutes, and then put a drop on the cooled plate: the prepared confiture will be held flat by the finger.

Now the confiture can be served to the table, or rolled into sterilized jars.

Confiture of apples and oranges

Oranges are cleaned according to the scheme from the previous recipe, we collect the trimming in a gauze pouch. Apples are cleaned and cut into cubes. We put orange zest, bag, pulp and pieces of apples in a saucepan, pour water. As soon as the liquid boils, add sugar and spices to the pan. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. As soon as apples become soft enough, remove the confiture from the fire and serve it to the table. All our orange jam is ready!
