Not always gardeners understand what fertilizers are for, when and what kind of them should be used. And this is very important to know, because when making them they change the composition of the soil from which the plant receives its nutrition, which subsequently affects its development.
Now it is not a problem to buy fertilizer, but in order to make the right choice, you need to know what each of them is intended for. From this article you will learn about the use of phosphorus-potassium (or potassium-phosphorus fertilizers) for fertilizing flowers and vegetable crops.
What is a phosphate-potassium fertilizer?
This is a complex mineral fertilizing, the main elements of which are phosphorus and potassium. Now there is a large number of drugs belonging to this group, but differing in percentage of the main components and the name of additional elements.
Such a variety of fertilizers is becoming more popular due to the fact that they contain fewer substances that lead to salinization of the earth.
Main types of phosphate-potassium fertilizers
In order to better understand why phosphate-potassium fertilizers are used, let us consider the characteristics of some of their species.
Phosphoric-potash fertilizer "Autumn" . It includes:
- phosphates -5%;
- potassium - 18%;
- calcium - 8%;
- magnesium - 2.5%;
- boron - 0,2%.
It is recommended to use for garden, ornamental and garden crops in the following periods:
- when digging - in the autumn 35-60 g / m & sup2 or in spring, but already simultaneously with the nitrogen-containing preparation;
- during flowering and during fruiting, make 15-30 g / m & sup2 each time when humming and loosening the soil, then it should be watered;
- at the end of the vegetative cycle - approximately in September in a dose of 30-40 g / m2 sup2. This is necessary for successful wintering and maturation of shoots.
Nitrofosca. In its composition are included in equal shares (12% each) potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen, which are in easily digestible form, therefore all useful substances enter the plant. Produced in the form of gray granules with a pinkish tinge. The admissible dose of application is 45-60 g per 1 m & sup2. It is recommended to use it before sowing the seeds (tentatively in the early spring) and during the summer months.
Nitroammophoska. It contains phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium, 17% and 2% sulfur. Introduce in any type of soil 40-50 g per m & sup2 in spring when planted, as the main fertilizer, and in summer as an additional fertilizing.
Nitrophos . Comprises:
- 6% nitrogen;
- 11% of calcium;
- 16% phosphorus.
Perfect for fertilizing for most garden flowers.
Diammofosca. Contains nitrogen (10%), potassium (26%), phosphorus (26%), as well as a small amount of iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium and sulfur. It is applied on 20-30 g per 1 m & sup2. It is recommended to use for almost all colors.
Carboammofosca. The structure includes:
- nitrogen 14-24%;
- phosphorus pentoxide 12-21%;
- K2O-12-16%.
It is designed for soil fertilization before sowing.
Phosphate-potash fertilizer "AVA" . A special feature of this novelty of fertilizer production is that it does not contain nitrogen, and it belongs to the root-soluble drugs.
You can apply fertilizer before sowing seeds. There are several ways to do this:
- soaking the inoculum;
- seeding or mixing with seeds;
- pouring the soil with a solution of this drug.
If you want to use natural fertilizers, then you can use wood ash , which is considered a complex feeding, as it contains several important substances, including potassium and phosphorus. Recommended application rate is 3 cups per 1 m & sup2.
