Physiotherapy with a herniated spine

Hernia of the spine is the degeneration of the vertebral disc, which occurs as a result of eating disorders. The inflow of nutrients "overlaps" due to spasm of nearby muscles. In this case, over time, the disk is dumped, ceases to be elastic and collapses. The main symptom is pain syndrome. In addition, there may be a feeling of numbness, burning in the limbs.

This disease most often has a banal origin - an incorrect load on the back. And, this not only means that you were carrying bags of potatoes on your back, but it could mean a complete lack of exercise, or an elementary failure to follow the rules of the position of your back at the desk.

Concomitant, inducing the appearance of the disease, the factors is a lack of consumed fluid and unbalanced nutrition. If your diet is low in water, calcium , phosphorus, magnesium and potassium, the nutrition of the intervertebral discs will be disturbed even without muscle spasms.

But since the wrong load - yet the most characteristic cause of the onset of the disease, in the hernia of the spine, in the first place, is prescribed therapeutic exercise.

Rules for doing exercises

A hernia of the spine is a serious illness, which, with the carefree attitude of the patient, can lead to the operating table. It is necessary to treat physiotherapy exercises really as a medicine, and not just physical activity, and that is why the physician should prescribe the exercise therapy.

The first task set before exercise exercises is to reduce the pain syndrome. Only after overcoming pain can we talk about any other activities.

During the performance of physical education with herniated spine, avoid exercises causing acute pain, as well as twisting, jumping, striking back. To exercise for the spine was effective, it should be performed throughout the day, making each time 2 approaches so that in a day there were 6-8 approaches.

Exercises

  1. Need to slowly, gently approach any horizontal plane, bed or table, the weight is slowly transferred to the hands, the body should be tilted forward. Slipping your hands over the surface, you should lay your chest on the couch / bed / table, hands should be under the body, and then on the sides of the ribs. Pelvic bones should densely abut against the surface of the plane, the body is completely relaxed. After this, you need to take a deep diaphragmatic breath (belly), hold your breath to account 4, then exhale smoothly. To repeat this action it is necessary 7-8 times, then, transferring weight on hands and moving them under the case, it is necessary to rise smoothly. You can do 2-3 approaches. Due to the fact that in this exercise the body is completely relaxed, and under the influence of the weight of the legs and pelvis there is a smooth extension of the lumbosacral division, while the extensors of the back and the square muscles of the waist manage to slowly stretch and relax - these muscles and lead to the onset of pain syndrome, which in this way turns out to be minimized.
  2. It is necessary to take a knee-elbow position, knees should be maximally dilated in the sides, hands should be perpendicular to the shoulder joints. The spine should not be bent - this leads to lordosis, and should not be rounded - this is called kyphosis. Both of these lead to an even more intense muscle tension. The position of the back should be even, regular, relaxed, the neck relaxed, the head hangs. It is necessary to make a slow inhalation in the stomach, and a slow exhalation (the navel should be tried to "press" against the spine). On exhalation, a delay of 4 seconds is made, then the stomach is inhaled. This exercise again relaxes the lumbar region, making it more stretched. You need to repeat 7-8 times for 2-3 approaches.

These exercises are good because they can be performed at home, individually, without fear of harming and aggravating the condition of the patient. Due to such a mild effect, the pain syndrome is removed by 75%.
