It is not always possible to get clay for making decorative figurines, in this case they can be made from salted dough. But this is not so simple, because first you need to properly prepare the mass for modeling, and also know how to dry it later.

In order to make a dough, we will need:
- 1 cup of flour;
- 0.5 cups of salt;
- 0,5 glasses of warm water;
- ceramic container for mixing and a spoon.
Pour the flour into the plate and add salt to it. Stir, then pour out the water.

Regardless of what kind of figures you are going to make from a salted dough, it is always prepared according to this recipe.
Master-class №1: light figures from salted dough
It will take:
- ready-made salted dough;
- cutting board;
- rolling pin;
- spatula;
- molds for biscuits (asterisks, little men, circles, hearts);
- straw tubing or toothpick;
- tracing paper or paper (parchment) for baking;
- watercolors and brushes.
Progress:
Roll out the dough so that it becomes 0.5 cm thick.
On the rolled sheet, we make prints of the prepared molds. Press it well to cut the dough.

Cover the trail with tracing paper or baking paper. With the help of a spatula, we transfer the separated figures to it. If there is no suitable scapula, you can do it by hand.

Using a tube, make a small hole so that you can hang the figure. For the same purpose, a toothpick is also used.

We put the figures from the salted dough into the oven and bake for several hours at a temperature of + 250 ° C. Baking time depends on the thickness of the product, the thicker, the longer.
Spread on a flat surface and let it cool.

Passing a rope through the hole, such figures can be hung on the neck, a Christmas tree or hang out around the house.

Master-class number 2: figures of cats made of salted dough
It will take:
- puff pastry;
- cardboard;
- paint (watercolor or gouache) and a brush;
- frame.
Divide the dough into parts:
- for the trunk - the largest;
- for the head - smaller;
- for the tail, muzzle, paws, eyes, ears - small pieces will do.
On the cardboard attach the flattened circles, placing them as shown in the photo. This will be the head and torso. In the middle of a smaller circle we have a muzzle.
Then we make flat small details: ears, eyes, paws and tail. The thickness of each part should be 3-5 mm.
Dry in the oven at 250 ° C for 3-4 hours. After complete drying, proceed to coloring. First we cover the whole figure with black paint.
With white paint, select the tip of the tail, mustache, eyes, breast, and draw a red mouth.
As an ornament on the door of a salted dough, you can make an excellent cat figure. For this, it is necessary to roll out a lot of mass so that the thickness is 10-15 mm. This is to ensure that the figure does not split. Even in the raw material, make 2 holes for fixing the wire. After that, dry well and colorize.
From the front side we twist the wire so that it does not fall out, and we bend it along the entire length.
