Summer is the time of travel, and many people prefer to go to warm countries. During such a holiday, no one is immune from such trouble as a tarantula bite. This spider is toxic, but its toxins are not too dangerous for humans and, moreover, are not fatal, they cause only a temporary local reaction of the skin and soft tissues.
What is fraught with a bite of a tarantula for a person?
In Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, only South Russian or Crimean tarantulas live. The bites of this spider are shallow, with a small amount of injected poison. Therefore, they do not cause special consequences, as a rule, all unpleasant symptoms disappear after 4 days. The danger of such an unpleasant incident can only be present when a person is allergic to tarantula toxins.
What does the tarantula bite look like?
The place where the skin was bitten by a spider, looks like a shallow little wound to 2-3 mm in diameter. It is located on the top of the tubercle or a small red swelling caused by the accumulation of poison in the upper layers of the dermis.
It is important to note that the wound does not bleed and does not crust, as if damaged by other species of spiders.
Symptoms of a bite of a tarantula
The main features of the considered state:
- pain at the bite site;
- redness of the skin;
- slight swelling;
- drowsiness;
- malaise;
- rarely - a rise in body temperature (short-term).
Symptoms if a person has an allergy to a poison of a tarantula:
- severe swelling and a red rash around the bite site;
- rapid deterioration of general health;
- heat;
- intensive pain syndrome;
- numbness of the limb.
First aid with a bite of a tarantula
If the standard clinical manifestations of pathology are observed, the following measures should be taken:
- Rinse the damaged skin thoroughly with soap and water.
- Treat the bite with any antiseptic solution .
- Apply cold compress to the wound.
- Drink copious amounts of liquid.
- Provide the body with peace.
If an allergic reaction occurs, you should drink an antihistamine , if necessary, an anesthetic, then immediately go to the hospital.
