Moscow is not only the capital of Russia, but also the center of spirituality of the whole country, which is why a very large number of churches of various faiths are located in the city and its suburbs. History of the creation of the Church of the Transfiguration in Lyubertsy
The first mention of the temple was back in 1632. Then in the former village of Liberia was built by the deacon Ivan Gryazev, the wooden church of the Transfiguration. The following owners of these lands rebuilt the temple in stone, but in 1936 it was destroyed. Now at this place is the stadium.
Since 1993, the temple began to rebuild. Since its former location was occupied, a new land plot was allocated for construction and a consecrated stone was laid. After a while a wooden chapel was built, then a bell tower and in 1997 - the main altar part. This newly built church housed up to 300 people.
In 1998, the foundation of the future church was laid, but due to the lack of funding, the construction of the stone building was continued only in 2006. Thanks to the support of the regional government, the temple was built and painted in 2008. In the same year he was consecrated.
After the large-scale Divine Liturgy, attended by several thousand people, a cross cross was erected between the wooden and stone churches in honor of this memorable event.
Features of the Transfiguration Church in Lyubertsy
Outwardly, the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Lyubertsy is not as noticeable as, for example, the famous Elokhov Cathedral . This brick single-dome four-building white building, built in the Russian style. In its basement is the christening church of John the Baptist with a font for adults, laid out in mosaic. There is no separate bell tower, there is only a gate bell tower.
Even without going inside, you can see a lot of interesting things:
- near the eastern entrance there is a canopy typical of this architectural style;
- above the main entrance is the icon of the Savior Not Made by Hands;
- on the southern wall of the church a mosaic icon depicting Innocent, Metropolitan of Moscow;
- Beautiful mosaics decorating the outer walls.

The old wooden Innokentievskaya church (in honor of Metropolitan of Moscow), included in the temple complex, looks very beautiful too.
Interior decoration strikes its homogeneity, because all the interior items are made by masters of the Holy Trinity brotherhood of wood:

- subframes for icons.

The Church of the Transfiguration is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm, the services are held in the morning and evening. Also on the territory of the temple there is a library and Sunday school, which can be visited by adults and children, there are several choirs.
Thanks to the efforts of the rector of the temple, Dimitry Murzyukov, pilgrimage trips to holy places, summer camps for family rest, assistance to several social institutions are organized: the Ukhtom hospital, the Lyubertsy maternity hospital, the hospital No. 1 in the village of Kraskovo and others.
