History of the creation of the Church of the Transfiguration in Lyubertsy

The first mention of the temple was back in 1632. Then in the former village of Liberia was built by the deacon Ivan Gryazev, the wooden church of the Transfiguration. The following owners of these lands rebuilt the temple in stone, but in 1936 it was destroyed. Now at this place is the stadium.

Since 1993, the temple began to rebuild. Since its former location was occupied, a new land plot was allocated for construction and a consecrated stone was laid. After a while a wooden chapel was built, then a bell tower and in 1997 - the main altar part. This newly built church housed up to 300 people.

In 1998, the foundation of the future church was laid, but due to the lack of funding, the construction of the stone building was continued only in 2006. Thanks to the support of the regional government, the temple was built and painted in 2008. In the same year he was consecrated.

After the large-scale Divine Liturgy, attended by several thousand people, a cross cross was erected between the wooden and stone churches in honor of this memorable event.

Features of the Transfiguration Church in Lyubertsy

Outwardly, the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Lyubertsy is not as noticeable as, for example, the famous Elokhov Cathedral . This brick single-dome four-building white building, built in the Russian style. In its basement is the christening church of John the Baptist with a font for adults, laid out in mosaic. There is no separate bell tower, there is only a gate bell tower.
