Andipal is a combined preparation that has spasmolytic, analgesic, mild antipyretic and hypotensive effects.
Composition and form of release
The drug is available in the form of tablets, packed in paper packets or blisters of 10 pieces.
One Andipal tablet contains:
- metamizole sodium (aka analgin) - 0.25 g;
- papaverine hydrochloride - 0.02 g;
- Bendazole (dibazole) - 0.02 g;
- phenobarbital - 0.02 g;
- Excipients.
The action and indications for the use of Andipal are determined by the properties of all components of the preparation.
Metamizole sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that provides a relatively weak analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect.
Papaverin and bendazole - relieve spasm of vessels and smooth muscles of internal organs, have a vasodilating effect (which leads to a decrease in pressure).
Phenobarbital - in small doses has a calming effect. In a complex with antispasmodics enhances their relaxing effect on smooth muscles.
The drug is sold under the name Andipal, Andipal-B and Andipal Neo (depending on the manufacturer), but the composition and indications for use, these tablets do not differ.
General indications for Andipal
Sedress can be used when the following ailments and conditions occur:
- pain caused by vasospasms (headaches, angina in mild form);
- migraine (the drug is not always effective);
- spasms of the musculature of internal organs, including those caused by chronic diseases (cholecystitis, colitis, intestinal cramps, hepatic colic, etc.);
- arterial hypertension;
- bronchospasm (rarely prescribed).
As a febrifuge, Andipal, as a rule, is not applied. Also, due to low efficiency, it is not prescribed for non-spasmatic pains. A definite effect Andipal can give due to anti-inflammatory action, in case the occurrence of pain is associated with inflammatory processes.
Indications for use of Andipal at elevated pressure
Although among the indications for the use of andipal and indicated hypertension, as a medicine for high blood pressure it is practically not used. This is due to the fact that the hypotensive effect of the drug is rather weak and manifests itself slowly, and the drug itself is not intended for long-term (longer than 7-10 days) reception.
Therefore, with increased pressure, Andipal is used primarily to relieve the headaches caused by this. With a strong increase in pressure, it is usually combined with other antihypertensive drugs, a more rapid action. To reduce the pressure, it is used at a slight increase in it, in cases when taking medication is not required constantly.
Precautionary measures
Contraindications to the use of Andipal:
- hypotension;
- diseases and bleeding disorders;
- glaucoma;
- renal or hepatic insufficiency;
- chronic heart failure;
- myasthenia gravis;
- hyperplasia of the prostate;
- porphyria;
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- children under 12 years.
Of the side effects when taking the drug may be constipation, nausea, allergic reactions, as well as drowsiness and a decrease in the rate of reactions. When taking andipal for more than 7 days in rare cases, the occurrence of depressive conditions and a violation of blood coagulability.
The method is used to take or one-time (to relieve pain), or course (no more than 10 days). Drink andipal 1-2 tablets up to 3 times a day. In case of an overdose, dizziness, drowsiness, and possibly a collapse state are observed.
