How to connect the intercom in the apartment correctly?

Stage 1 - choose the intercom

Depending on the desires and financial possibilities, in the apartment you can install either a conventional audio door phone or its video analog. As the name implies, in the second case it will be possible not only to hear, but also to see the guest. That's just cost such an interphone set not cheap, and to protect it from vandals is problematic. Therefore, in conventional high-rise buildings, it is worth opting for an inexpensive audio doorphone consisting of a calling device installed on the door to an entrance and a tube mounted at any point in the apartment.

Stage 2 - Preparatory work

At this stage, you should prepare all the materials and tools that you might need during the installation work:

Stage 3 - installation of the ringing device and cable laying

The calling device is installed on the entrance door at a height of not less than 1.5 meters. On the reverse side, according to the scheme, a button is installed that allows you to open the door from the inside. Then a cable is laid, which will connect the caller and the handset. The cross-section of the cable depends on the distance at which the two devices are spaced apart. It should be remembered that it is not recommended to distribute the handset and call block for more than 50 meters due to high signal attenuation. On the porch, the cable can be laid by concealed installation (by grasping the grooves in the wall and then sealing them) or in a special corrugated pipe. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid the proximity of the interphone cable to the power cable, as this will lead to interference.

Step 4 - Installing the Handset

Install the inside of the intercom system, or, simply put, the tube can be in any convenient tenants part of the apartment. But traditionally for these purposes a wall is used near the front door.
