Master class on making medals for children from clay with their own hands

It will take:

  1. We raise the dry clay with water and knead it to the test condition. Roll it with a rolling pin or palms in a pancake thickness of 3 - 5 mm. And squeeze out the shape of the required figure.
  2. Obtained blanks are decorated: we make strokes with a toothpick, convex strips are made of fine straw from the same material. We make a hole for the tape with a straw.
  3. We put it on the baking tray for drying. If your workpieces began to deform (edges rise), turn them face down.
  4. We dry up the dried blanks in the colors we need: silver and gold.
  5. We measure the necessary length of tapes and cut them.
  6. We insert into the hole of the tape and tie the ends. Our medals are ready.

If we need a round medal then we take the yellow clay and roll it up to a thickness of 5 mm. Squeeze a circle with a glass and cut out a rectangle with a knife 3x2 cm.

Apply a circle to the bottom edge of the rectangle and cut the edge in a semicircle.

We attach this detail to the circle.

To make a hole for the tape, do first in the middle of the notch, and then cut out the inner rectangle.

We let it dry (the time depends on the material used), we insert the ribbon, we tie it and our gold medal is ready.

  3. Cut out the text printed on a dense cardboard and glue it on the shiny part. The medal is ready.
