Composition and pharmacological action of Cardiomagnola
The main active substance of the drug is acetylsalicylic acid. This component, acting on certain enzymes in the body, reduces the ability of platelets to glue (aggregation) and prevents thrombosis. Also acetylsalicylic acid normalizes the raised body temperature, renders an analgesic effect and suppresses inflammatory reactions.
The second component of the Cardiomagnet is magnesium hydroxide. This substance is an antacid and laxative and is incorporated into the preparation to neutralize the irritating effect of acetylsalicylic acid on the gastric mucosa. Magnesium hydroxide reacts with gastric juice and hydrochloric acid, and also covers the walls of the stomach with a protective film. It also helps to increase the peristalsis of all parts of the intestine.
The effect of these two components occurs in parallel, they do not affect the effectiveness of each other. The excipients of the drug include: corn and potato starch, cellulose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol, talc.
Indications for use Cardiomagnet:
- prevention of thrombosis and acute heart failure in the presence of risk factors (elderly age, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, hypertension, obesity);
- prevention of recurrent myocardial infarction and thrombosis of blood vessels;
- ischemic stroke;
- deterioration of the blood supply to the brain and prevention of thrombosis after surgery for aortocoronary shunting and coronary angioplasty;
- unstable angina.
How and when to take a cardiomagnet?
Cardiomagnet can be taken only as prescribed by the doctor and after developing an individual scheme for taking the drug. Typically, the drug is taken once a day for one tablet containing acetylsalicylic acid in an amount of 75 or 150 mg.
Tablets are recommended to be taken after meals in full, washed down with plenty of clean water. If necessary, the tablet can be broken into two parts, chewed or pre-grated.
It does not really matter when to take a cardiomagnet - in the morning or in the evening. However, in most cases, doctors recommend drinking these pills in the evening. This is due to the fact that more often problems with cardiac activity begin in the evening, as well as with some side effects of the drug. In particular, acetylsalicylic acid causes increased sweating, which is undesirable during the day, especially at work.
How long can I take a cardiomagnet?
As a rule, the drug is taken for a long time and even for life. However, side effects and contraindications are taken into account, blood clotting and blood pressure readings should be periodically monitored. In some cases it is recommended to take a break in the course of treatment. - bronchial asthma, induced by the intake of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and salicylates;
- individual intolerance.
