Historical reference

Mount Rzip has a great importance for the history of the Czech Republic. According to the legends, once upon a time two brothers, Chekh and Leh, led the people to find suitable land where they could settle. And one day Cech climbed Mount Rzip, looked around and told his men to break the camp under the mountain, because he realized that he had found the ideal place for the village. From that very moment the history of the Czech Republic began, and Cech himself is considered the father, the progenitor of all modern Czechs.

A little bit about Mount Rzhip

It is located in the Central Bohemian Region. The hill can not boast of a great height - only 459 m. However, due to the fact that the mountain is in the middle of the plain, it is visible from afar, and from the top there is a wonderful panoramic view of the surroundings. They say that in clear weather from the mountain you can see even Prague - the capital of the Czech Republic.

Sightseeings of Mount Rzyp

Of course, the most important is the view that opens from the mountain, which allows you to enjoy the nature and beauties of the Czech Republic. In addition, on the top of Mount Rzyp there is an ancient rotunda of St. Jiří, built in 1126. It was erected in honor of the victory in the battle of Chlomtz and has survived to the present day in almost unchanged form.

The Rzip mountain in the Czech Republic has one more interesting feature, connected with the presence of basalt deposits under it - the compass does not work here, and the magnetic needle starts to erratically rotate.
