Bold and funny characters of the cartoon, turtle-ninjas fell in love with many generations of children. Although the cartoon about them appeared long enough, it still remains for many kids the most-loved. Boys are happy to try on the role of the heroes of their favorite cartoon, tirelessly playing the scenes from it. How to make your own children's carnival costume for a ninja turtle? Despite the seeming complexity, it is not difficult at all. In this article, we'll show you how to sew a ninja turtle suit for your favorite mischief.
For the costume we need:
- children's pajamas without a pattern of green;
- yellow flannel;
- a piece of red cloth;
- acrylic paint;
- dye for fabric;
- sewing needles and threads;
- brown tape;
- large form for baking from foil;
- Velcro;
- remnants of holofayber or sintepon.
Let's get to work:
- The basis of our costume will be the usual children's pajamas, consisting of panties and a long-sleeved T-shirt. Pajamas are better to take green, but if there is none, then you can paint any suitable dye for the fabric.
- Turtles-ninjas are allocated with the inflated torsos. To represent the cubes of muscles, we cut out the oval from the yellow flannel.
- We sew the oval to the front of our T-shirt, laying three lines: one vertical and two horizontal. Thus, we get three "pockets", which we fill with a synthepone or holofayber to give relief. We will detach our oval along the contour - the muscle cubes are ready.
- For stripes on the hands and feet, take the bandana or any red cloth and cut out of it 5 strips with a width of 7.5 cm each.
- We sew the strips on the sleeves and panties, laying a line in the center of each strip and leaving the ends free - we will tie them. Sew the strips on the wrists, at the level of the elbows and knees.
- We proceed to the most important detail for the costume of a turtle-ninja - its shell. For the shell we will take a disposable form for baking from foil of the appropriate size and paint it with brown acrylic paint. To make the shell more textured, you can draw a line of characteristic "tortoise" colors with a green paint.
- We will fasten the shell by means of a belt, which we will make of a piece of brown tape. We will do with a knife two holes in the baking mold, we will pass the ends of the ribbon in them so that it passes over the shell.
- In order for the shell to hold firmly on its back, we fix it with the Velcro. One half of the Velcro will be glued to the shell, and the second we sew on the T-shirt. Thus the shell will reliably hold on to the back of our turtle-ninja, without slipping.
- A very important detail of a ninja turtle suit is a belt buckle on which each character has the first letter of his name written. For the belt buckle, we cut out two mugs with a diameter of 7.5 cm from the embossed cardboard. We cut the same circle from the usual cardboard and put it between two cardboard parts.
- We glue all three parts of the buckle together. While our buckle will dry, we cut out from the embossed cardboard the initial letter of the name of our turtle. We paste the letter in the center of the buckle.
- We glue the buckle to one half of the belt. Under the buckle from the back of the belt we attach a half of Velcro, and attach the second part of the Velcro to the second half of the strap.
- Our suit is almost ready, it is necessary to supplement it with details: weapons and half-masks. These attributes can be purchased separately or also made independently from improvised materials.
