Statica - growing from seeds

Statica, immortelle, kermek, limonium - these are all the names of one plant belonging to the family of piglets. In the European landscape design dried flowers have been used for many years, in the post-Soviet space the plant is only beginning to gain popularity among flower growers and to be applied by landscape designers when decorating sections of private houses and public places. The cut flower of the statue can stand in the vase, without losing decorative qualities, for several years, so the flower compositions from the immortelle serve as an excellent decoration for the interior.

There are annual and perennial species of statics. Many people prefer to plant perennials, and this is justified, since growing the seed from the seeds has certain difficulties.

Statics - planting and care

To obtain bright intensively-colored flowers, it is necessary to observe the technology of growing the statue. Seeds of the statue are enclosed in a ribbed shell. The commercially available seed is cleared of the fetus, but experienced flower growers who cultivate dried flowers for several years are advised to sow the statics, laying whole ribs in the ground.

Sow immortelles on seedlings in February or early March in boxes with moistened soil. Seedlings sprinkled from above with a thin layer of soil and covered with glass or film. Boxes with crops contain at a temperature of +16 ... + 21 degrees, watering is carried out regularly. After 1,5-2,5 weeks there are shoots. After the formation of two real leaves, the seedlings are dived into single single cups.

At the end of April - beginning of May the statue is planted in the open ground. Choose a place well lit by the sun. Immortals prefer loamy or sandy, well drained soils. Given that the plant does not tolerate the transplant, digging pits, depth of which corresponds to the height of the glass. The plastic container is carefully cut with a sharp knife, the plant is placed in the prepared cavity, watered with water. The historical homeland of the statue is the solonchak Mediterranean territory, therefore, it is recommended to add salt to the water at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 10 liters of water. When planting seedlings between bushes, a distance of 25-35 cm is observed for a full vegetation of the plant.

Statics - cultivation

If you observe a few simple conditions, the cultivation of the flowers of the statue does not cause much trouble, and the immortelles continuously blossom from July to October. The rules of cultivation are as follows:

Decorative qualities of dried flowers can be best used in decorating space. High varieties of statics look great in mixborders , alpine hills and high flower beds. Low-brow immortellers form magnificent curbs.

Statica - blanks for compositions

In order to preserve the color and form of flowers in the best way, it is necessary to cut and dry the plant properly. For harvesting, you should choose a time when the bush is full of flowers, but they are still fresh, not sunburned. Flowers dry in an inverted state, separately from each other in a well ventilated room, in a place where direct sunlight does not reach. Otherwise, the dried statue will lose its eye-pleasing color.
