The breed of burmilla cats appeared very recently and by chance, when one of the baroness of Great Britain, a Persian chinchilla male and a lilac Burmese female, became the parents of the most beautiful kittens. In the 1990s, the breed was recognized by GCCF and FIFe.
Burmilla and its varieties
Cats of this breed can have a different color, which determines their main varieties:
- smoky with black or chocolate wool;
- shaded with brown or lilac hair;
- solid color - it's black British or tortoiseshell, cream, bombay;
- tiger with a mottled black and mottled blue hair.
Untypical for this breed is solid silver color. On the abdomen of the animal, the color is lighter.
Depending on the length of the fur, Burmillae are divided into:
- Burmilla long-haired with a fluffy tail and long hair, which must be constantly taken care of.
- Burmilla short-haired, most common.

Burmilla is a small cat, its main characteristics:
- Rounded head, wide and short muzzle, resembling a full triangle in front;
- rounded ears with a wide base, slightly inclined forward;

- Hips and shoulders are the same in width;
- limbs muscular, paws in the shape of an ellipse or circle;
- the tail is thinned to the tip;
