Is it possible to drink Mukaltin from a cough to pregnant women?
This drug is considered to be relatively safe - this is confirmed by the fact that it is often prescribed even to children older than 1 year.
If we talk about the use of the drug during pregnancy, then according to the instruction, there are no direct contraindications. However, it should be borne in mind that such component of Mukaltin, as marshmallows in its pure form, is prohibited in the first trimester of pregnancy. Therefore, the appointment of Mukultin during the carrying of the baby should be done very carefully and exclusively by the doctor.
As for dosage and frequency of admission, they should be indicated by physicians. Most often 1-2 tablets up to 3-4 times a day. The duration of admission is also determined by the doctor who leads the pregnancy. Reception is stopped when the sputum begins to expectorate, i.e. cough becomes productive.
What contraindications for the appointment of this drug exist?
As already mentioned above, Mucaltin can be taken by pregnant women, however, only with the approval of a doctor. In this case, there are certain types of violations, in which use of the drug is unacceptable. These include:
- diabetes;
- stomach ulcer in the period of exacerbation;
individual intolerance of the drug. - At the same time, it is impossible to combine the drug with antitussive drugs.
