One teaspoon of olive oil - 5 grams (50 kcal).

One tablespoon of olive oil - 17 grams (153 kcal).

Olive oil is divided into 3 varieties: natural (unrefined), refined (refined) and oil cake.

Natural (unrefined) oil was obtained without chemical purification. Purified (refined) - obtained using physical and chemical processes. Here, you will not feel a strong specific odor, since it is a defect, and therefore is eliminated as much as possible. And, finally, oil cake is subject to strong heat treatment and obtained using chemical processes.

When buying it is better to choose unrefined (virgin) oil, since it was least subjected to heat treatment, and therefore maximally retained all the useful properties. Do not forget that the glass bottle best preserves all the necessary vitamins and trace elements. And pay attention to the date of manufacture: the maximum shelf life of olive oil from the production date of 5 months.
